Seek-Chat, operated by Thinkly for Digital Business, uses a small amount of browser storage of its own, and carries advertising and analytics from Google, which set cookies of their own. This page explains what is stored, who sets it, and how to control it, in plain terms.
Google Analytics is running now. It went live on September 7, 2026 and is active on every page, and it sets the first-party cookies listed in the table below. The analytics rows and the analytics section describe what is happening today.
Display advertising is not running yet. No advertisement is served on any page and no advertising cookie is set. The advertising row and the advertising section are written so that they are accurate both before and after the units go live. Nothing else on this page depends on that.
Cookies and local storage are not the same thing
The only thing Seek-Chat itself keeps in your browser is local storage, not a cookie. The difference matters: a cookie is attached to every request your browser makes to the site that set it, so its contents travel to that server. Local storage never leaves your device unless a script deliberately sends it, and ours does not. What it holds is one item: your light-or-dark theme preference, under the key sc-theme. Your conversation is not among it, and is not written to storage of any kind. The advertising and analytics cookies described below are a separate matter: those are set by Google and its advertising partners, not by us.
We do not store your conversation, and neither does your browser. It is held in the memory of the tab you have open and is discarded when you close the tab, reload the page, or navigate away. Nothing is written to local storage, to a cookie, or to our database. There is no history on this site or in your browser to clear, because there is none to keep. Your messages are sent to DeepSeek to generate replies, and what DeepSeek retains is governed by its own terms — see the section at the foot of this page.
What you type in the chat is never passed to advertisers or to Google Analytics. Your messages go to DeepSeek’s API to generate a reply and nowhere else. Advertising and analytics on this site are about page visits — which pages were opened, from where, on what kind of device — not about the contents of a conversation.
What is stored, and what for
The chat itself stores nothing. Your Fast or Pro choice is not remembered; the toggle returns to Fast when the page reloads.
Advertising
Seek-Chat is monetized by display advertising served by Google. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to select and serve those advertisements and to measure them. Advertising may be personalized, which means it can be based on your prior visits to this site and to other sites.
Third-party advertising vendors set their own cookies under their own names and durations. We do not control those cookies, and we do not receive or store the personal data those vendors collect. How Google uses information from sites that use its advertising is described on Google’s advertising technologies page, which is the authoritative description rather than our summary of it.
To turn off personalized advertising, use Google Ads Settings. To manage cookies from a wider list of third-party vendors, use www.aboutads.info. Turning off personalization does not remove advertising; it makes it less specific to you.
Analytics
Seek-Chat uses Google Analytics to measure traffic and understand how pages are used. At a general level it collects the pages you view, an approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser, the referral source that brought you here, and interaction events such as scrolling or following a link. It is not used to identify you personally, and it never receives what you type into the chat. It sets first-party cookies on seek-chat.com — _ga and _ga_<property> — which hold the identifier that tells a returning browser from a new one.
Google processes this data as described in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Data retention follows the retention setting configured in the Analytics property; we do not keep a separate copy of it.
Three things genuinely affect Google Analytics here, and it is worth being exact about what each one does. Google’s official Analytics opt-out browser add-on stops the measurement being sent, on every site you visit, for as long as the add-on is installed. A content blocker or a browser setting that blocks the tag itself prevents the script loading at all, so nothing is collected. Clearing this site’s data removes the cookies and so resets the identifier — the next visit looks like a new browser — but it does not stop collection, it starts it again from zero.
Two things people often expect to work do not. Google Analytics sets a first-party cookie on seek-chat.com, so blocking third-party cookies does not stop it. And a private window only prevents the identifier persisting after you close it; measurement still happens normally while the window is open. None of the controls above is a guaranteed off switch.
Cloudflare
This site is delivered through Cloudflare, which acts as its content delivery network and security layer. Every request passes through Cloudflare before it reaches our server, so Cloudflare processes connection data — IP address, user agent, and request metadata such as the URL and the time — in order to serve and protect the site. That happens at the network level on every page view, with or without any script, and it is not something a browser setting can switch off while still loading the page.
Cloudflare can also inject scripts at its edge that our server never sent. One is active here: an email-obfuscation script served from /cdn-cgi/scripts/ on this domain, which appears on pages containing an email address and makes it harder for spam harvesters to read. Cloudflare also offers a performance-measurement beacon from static.cloudflareinsights.com; that feature is turned off for this site, so the script is not served to visitors. Cloudflare’s own documentation states that this beacon stores nothing in the browser — no cookie, no local storage, no session storage — and reports only timing measurements read from the browser’s performance API.
Consent
We want to be straightforward about this rather than leave it to be assumed. Seek-Chat does not operate a consent banner. There is no mechanism on this site that asks your permission before advertising or analytics cookies are set, and no setting here that switches them off. Google Analytics loads for every visitor today, wherever they are, including visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Advertising will behave the same way once it goes live.
The controls that do exist are the ones described above and below: Google Ads Settings, www.aboutads.info, the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and your own browser’s cookie and storage settings. If a consent mechanism is added to this site, this section will name it and say what it does.
Controlling all of this
- Turn off personalized advertising: Google Ads Settings, and www.aboutads.info for other vendors.
- Opt out of Google Analytics: the opt-out browser add-on.
- Clear everything stored for this site: open your browser’s settings, find site data or cookies, search for seek-chat.com, and delete it. That removes your theme preference along with any advertising or analytics cookies stored for this site.
- Discard a conversation: close the tab or reload the page. It is gone immediately, on your side and ours.
- Leave nothing behind on the device: use a private or incognito window. Your browser discards the cookies and storage when you close it, so the next visit looks like a new browser. It does not stop analytics measuring the session while the window is open.
- Block storage entirely: most browsers can refuse cookies and local storage for a named site. Blocking only third-party cookies will not affect Google Analytics here, because its cookie is first-party to seek-chat.com. The chat will still answer; the site will simply forget your theme preference on every reload.
What this page does not cover
Clearing browser storage removes what is on your device. It has no effect on anything DeepSeek may retain after receiving your prompt through its API — that is governed by DeepSeek’s own terms and is outside our control. It also has no effect on records Google or its advertising partners hold on their own systems; use their own controls, linked above, for that. The privacy policy explains the full data flow.
